How to get to Petrosani

How to reach Petrosani:
You should book your flights for Bucharest :
Step 1: http://otp-airport.ro/index.php - Henri Coanda Airport – Bucharest
Step 2: Airport – GARA de NORD (Obs: The main train station in Bucharest) (Obs: the train is the most convenient mean of transport! If not try to go for Bus: 780 and then, if you will still not be able to get this one, get Bus: 783)
a. Bus – 783 – from Airport to Victoriei Station
Very Important Observation: the price for the bus ticket is 7.6 lei (almost 2 eur) and you will buy the tickets from the bus station! Pay attention, change some money (eur or $) in the exchange offices in the airport, but not that much!!! – it is a 2 ways ticket, so keep it for your return!
Then, after you will arrive in Henri Coanda Airport, after you will have collected your luggage, when you will get into the lounge saloon for arrivals, you will find some stairs that you will take you, downstairs (well, that “mobile” stairs ) where you will find Bus No. 783 - Express Bus - http://otp-airport.ro/index.php?&cat=16&article=54 . (you will find there the timetable).
With this bus, you have to until you will reach Piata Victoriei station. Here, you have to get off the and you will find the Metro entrance just on your right hand side.
Step 3: Metro: - Take line 1 – From Victoriei to Gara de Nord (just 1 station to go)
Very Important Observation: Buy the metro card – 2 ways and keep it for your return. The price of the card is 3 lei (almost 0.7 eur).
Go to line 1 – the red one from Victoriei to Gara de Nord – it would be the next stop! (so, hurry again  )

b. Bus 780 – is leaving the aiport exactly from the same place as 783 and it takes you directly to the Train Station – Gara de Nord. The price of the ticket is the same.
c – By train – in the airport, you will find the ticket’s selling point – Bilete CFR. You can buy the tickets here – the price is 6 lei (almost 1.5 eur) and the person selling the tickets will guide you to reach the departure point (for 1km you will be transferred by minibus and then by train). In almost 40 minutes you will reach GARA de Nord.
Gara the Nord (in English would be The North Railway Station) to Petrosani:
Obs:
1 – Book tickets for the 2nd class (clasa a II a)! – We can’t reimburse the 1st class tickets!
2. The price of the ticket should be not more than 60 lei. (this means aprox. 15 eur).
3. The legend: A – Accelerat – is the cheapest, R – Rapid – a bit more expensive, IC – InterCity – the most expensive and also the fastest!
